Movie Review

Step Up

Related imageStep up was released in 2006, Anne Fletcher was the director. The screenwriters were Duane Adler and Melissa Rosenberg. The main characters in the movie was Channing Tatum who played as Tyler Gage and Jenna Dewan who plays as Nora. This movie was about a guy that has been in and out of trouble for majority of his life finding himself back in front of the judge he was sentenced to two hundred hours of community service mopping the floors at the Maryland School of the Arts the school he vandalized. Doing community service he sees Nora a talented ballet student who is trying to learn hip-hop moves for one of her classical routines. After some convincing she let him help her with the routine. Marcianne Miller a reviewer from Rotten Tomatoes writes “There’s gotta be something right about a movie when half the audience dances up the theater aisles when it’s over.” Step Up was only nominated for three awards the only one they won was Choice Movie Dance. The movie started off great with Tyler and his friends at a party it felt like I was there or more that I wanted to be there. The movie never once really had a dull moment it was always happening. This movie introduced me to the love of dance and also the love of different backgrounds and how they can gain true love. If they could do anything different to this movie I would want them to incorporate a little bit more love scenes other than that it was great.
